Episode Description

This week in Disney news, despite the circumstances, Disney would still like Black Widow to be a theatrical release. Also, the Leave a Legacy monoliths are back, but in a different form. There is now a rainbow wall outside the park where you can take your picture and post it on your instagram because walls are a thing.

Love is in the air. Valentine’s Day is such a nice, happy holiday. So...let’s imagine we’re in a bizarro world where instead of happy, fun times, Disney is known as a place that can deliver truly chilling ride experiences. They develop a ride around the idea of a well-known sci-fi horror film in which an alien eviscerates human beings. In the ride, an alien escapes its containment pod and rampages throughout the auditorium, surprising and horrifying guests with what seems like blood spatter, neck breathing, and the alien itself jumping onto your shoulder harness.

No need to imagine that, because from 1995-2003, such a ride existed: ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. Although the ride never ended up including the Xenomorph from the Alien franchise because…wow that’s not a fit with the Disney brand…it did have a horrifying animatronic alien created by George Lucas himself to help audience members have nightmares for days. Why did Disney decide to take this path? Why not use the Xenomorph from Alien? Why Tomorrowland? What kind of crazy parent would take their child on this? We answer these questions and more in this week’s chilling episode.
